The Eco-Friendly Ecobins Binoculars by Nikon (199.95) come with glass that is made without lead or arsenic while still maintaining the Nikon's legendary level of optics. Even the strap on the binoculars are made out of sustainable fiber made of Eucalyptus forests created with minimal waste and called Tencel. The rubber body of the binoculars is made with non-chloide rubber and its green color is a chieved with no harmful inks or dyes. The body is also fogproof and waterproof. The case of the Ecobins is 100% natural made from the same Tencel material that the strap is made out of. The Tencel is a great combination of the greater properties of other mateirals like the softness of silk, strenght of polyester, as cool as linen, warm as wool and as absorbent as cotton. However, any moisture absorbed is quickly evaporated out of the material. Even the packaging of the Ecobins is environmentally responsible. The packaging is made of 85% recycled material.
