Design Within Reach Water Pitcher
The Design Within Reach Water Pitcher ($85) looks more like a french press than a Brita beater. It replaces Brita's plastic components with glass and stainless steel. The filter is not a plastic piece that needs to be replaced monthly, helping further fill up landfills. Instead they use natural loseki stones and Binchotan charcoal which helps create filtered, odorless, mineral rich water. The stones are from the mountains in Kanazawa on the coast of the Sea of Japan and they last up to 6 months before needing to be replaced.
